the art of noticing.
capturing moments between time and light.
I search for the essence of things. In the quiet spaces
between
what is seen and what is felt.
Between presence and absence,
memory and imagination,
nature and time.
Photography is my way of entering these spaces.
my practice. My practice moves between photography and visual art.
Inspired by the quiet philosophy of wabi-sabi and the atmospheric language of Impressionism, I am drawn to impermanence, simplicity, light and the beauty of what is fleeting.
I often work with intentional camera movement, multiple exposures and a painterly approach to light and colour. These techniques allow different moments to meet within a single image, creating photographs that feel more like impressions or memories than literal representations of the world.
I am interested in the space between photography and painting, between what is captured and what is imagined.
words and images…For me, poetry is another way of paying attention.
It is a practice of meeting life more precisely—of slowing down enough to notice what is felt, sensed and often difficult to name.
Sometimes a photograph captures an atmosphere, but words allow me to stay with it a little longer. To linger in a moment, to explore what it stirred within me, and perhaps to feel it more deeply.
Writing is my way of giving shape to these fleeting impressions—to let a moment live a little longer through words.
Photography and poetry are, for me, two forms of the same practice:
a way of noticing, of listening, and of meeting life with greater presence.
what does it mean to truly see? This question continues to guide my work.
What if truly seeing begins with paying attention?
To the changing light.
A fading flower.
The silence between two waves.
The passage of time.
The quiet feeling that something within us is asking to be noticed.
Perhaps we do not always need to search for what is missing.
Perhaps we can slow down enough to recognise what is already here.
Beauty.
Presence.
Connection.
A life unfolding.
This is what I return to, again and again:
the art of noticing.
